These are not your grandmother's cloth diapers!
Cloth diapers? Really? Do people still use these things?
Yes! In fact, thanks to recent advancements, cloth diapers are making a comeback. They have come a long way --- these are no rags held on with safety pins! Some of the advantages of cloth diapers are:
- Cleanliness. Today's diapers are no messier than disposables. In fact, they can be cleaner! Most people use a flushable paper liner which can be dumped into the toilet when the diaper is changed. No sprayers or swishing things around in the toilet are required. Just flush the liner and its contents away. The diaper and inserts can go in a hamper to be washed every two or three days.
- Cost. Cloth diapers are significantly more cost-effective than disposables. For about the price of about two months' worth of disposable diapers, you can get a supply of cloth diapers that can last until your baby is ready for potty training. They can even last through multiple children.
- Flexibility. Many cloth diapers are designed to grow with your baby. They're completely adjustable, simply by changing how you fasten the diaper. They can even be customized by adding an additional insert for heavy wetters or overnight use.
- Environmentally friendly. Cloth diapers are better for the environment and healthier for your baby. They aren't stuffed with nasty chemicals like disposable diapers are, and they don't go into a landfill when you're done.
